A marvellous, awe-inspiring place that makes you feel like a 19th-century explorer coming across the ruins of an ancient civilization. These ruins belonged to the Lycian people who lived here before the classical Greek period. The city was then colonized by the Greeks and Romans and like all the other archeological sites in Turkey, later destroyed by a series of earthquakes.

When you arrived, the first thing you noticed was the huge cliff, covered in man-made holes, which used to be burials for the Lycians. The site is not preserved; nature has fully reclaimed it, and you can wander around majestic trees and ancient columns. When we visited, it was also the mating period of tortoises, so the location was full of them, slowly crawling around and fighting to mate.

For me this is for sure in the top 3 locations I saw during this trip.
